April 14th is Fountain Day in Kansas City, when the city turns on 48 of it's beautiful public fountains.

Route to check them out

  1. Start at the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain, located at the intersection of J.C. Nichols Parkway and Ward Parkway. (Starting point)

  2. Head north on Main Street for 6.6 miles and turn right on 26th Street to see the Northland Fountain. (7.2 miles)

  3. From there, continue east on 26th Street for 0.4 miles to see the Firefighter's Fountain in front of the Firefighters Fountain Memorial. (0.4 miles)

  4. Head south on Benton Boulevard for 1.4 miles and turn left on 9th Street to see the Children's Fountain. (1.5 miles)

  5. Continue south on Ward Parkway for 1.5 miles and turn right on Wornall Road to see the Meyer Circle Sea Horse Fountain. (1.7 miles)

  6. Turn left on 63rd Street and head east for 0.8 miles to the Country Club Plaza Fountain. (0.8 miles)

  7. Head downtown and turn right on Main Street for 2.7 miles to see the Women's Leadership Fountain in Ilus Davis Park. (2.7 miles)

  8. Continue north on Main Street for 1.4 miles and turn left on 20th Street to see The Vineyard Fountain. (1.4 miles)

  9. From there, head west on 20th Street for 0.3 miles and turn right on Grand Boulevard to see the Barney Allis Plaza Fountain. (0.3 miles)

  10. Head south on Oak Street for 0.6 miles and turn left on 47th Street to see the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden Fountain. (0.6 miles)

  11. Continue south on Broadway Boulevard for 0.8 miles and turn right on Pershing Road to see the Penn Valley Park Waterfall and Fountain. (0.8 miles)

  12. Head east on 22nd Street for 0.9 miles and turn left on The Paseo to see the Spirit of Freedom Fountain. (0.9 miles)

  13. Continue north on The Paseo for 1.9 miles and turn right on Cliff Drive to see the Kessler Park Fountain. (1.9 miles)

  14. From there, head south on Gladstone Boulevard for 1.4 miles and turn left on Gillham Road to see the Ilus Davis Park Fountain. (1.4 miles)

  15. Finally, head west on Pershing Road for 1.7 miles and turn left on Grand Boulevard to see the Crown Center Square Fountain. (1.7 miles)

This route covers all 15 of the notable fountains in Kansas City and allows you to see some of the city's most iconic landmarks along the way. Please note that this is just a suggested route, and you can adjust it based on your preferences and time available.
